Halloween Party Pics

Here is the third and final post in my Halloween series today. And this is all about the fun and friends!

As I said before, Keith and I went as the Pillsbury doughboy and Betty Crocker!

The best: Steven Hankins came as KEITH!!! He had his scrubs, his badge, his vest, man purse and everything! This is what my hubby looks like every day when he goes to school. I love the imitation!

Halloween Costumes

For Halloween, Keith and I were...........drumroll.........

The Pillsbury Doughboy and Betty Crocker!!

Isn't it perfect for us!? Haha. Keith agreed to be anything I wanted him to be (brave guy). I thought this was perfect, given my love for cooking and his love for eating.

Making the costumes was a breeze. For Keith, I bought a painters coverall from Sherwin Williams ($7) and stuffed it with bubble paper once he had it on. We had to use a lot since he's a tall, slim guy! I found a chef's hat at a restaurant supply store, and used a strip of blue fabric for his scarf. There is a button maker at my office, so with the help of a co-worker, I printed the Pillsbury logo and made it into a button. Done!

For my outfit, it was even easier! I already had a 50s-style red shirt-dress. I added my strand of white pearls, big pearl earrings, bright red lipstick and got a new polka dot apron from Anthropologie (an excuse to add another one to my collection!). I also made a Betty logo button at work, too.

Even if Betty Crocker and Pillsbury are rival brands, they made a great couple at our party!

Halloween Party Decor!

Well the party was a success! We had a great time, and I've got lots of pictures to share. First up, let's look at the decor!

As you can see in my inspiration post, I was going for sparkly, bright colors like lime green, hot pink and bold orange.

Here is the dessert buffet! I decked out the entry way of the house by covering the table in spiderweb fabric, hanging sparkly skeletons from the ceiling and switching out the painting for 4 cute shadow boxes:

I was inspired by this post on Tatertots & Jello. They were a really fun project, and it would be cute to make something similar for other holidays!

I made spider-y cupcakes and I loved the 2 colors of icing!

These are brownie pops dipped in chocolate and rolled in Halloween sprinkles. Tasty!

These little cuties are chocolate-covered Oreos using a mold by Wilton. They were easy, but time consuming, and definitely required some patience!

I also had peanut butter truffles and jars full of pretty candy!

The skulls and Happy Halloween banner came from Target.

In the dining room, we draped the hutch with a sparkly spiderweb and fuzzy spiders from Pier 1.

The centerpiece on the dining room table was small, because we had so much food to put out! I used a haunted house from Target and little silver skulls from Jo-Ann.

A Halloween party isn't complete without some of the good ole white spiderweb stringy stuff (it's a scientific term)!

I told ya, TONS of food!

On the coffee table, I decorated with pumpkins from Target, and a Department 56 candy bowl. Being that the hubs is in dental school, this little item was a perfect addition to our collection a few years ago.

Here's the mantel, which may be my favorite part!

Mom and I made this wreath, the idea came from Sassy Santuary. We chose 5 bright patterns from Jo-Ann fabrics, cut them into strips and tied around 2 wire wreath forms. We wanted it to be large and really full, so we wired 2 forms together. This little project took the longest, but I love it and it should last a while!

I spray painted and glittered a little wooden spider from Hobby Lobby and tied to the wreath. Cute!

I added a banner from TomKat Studio's party printable collection.

The candlesticks and black/purple pumpkins came from Hobby Lobby, the orange spider taper candles from Pier 1, and the black crows are from Michael's.

Inside the fireplace, we tucked away two green glitter spiders from Target.

The kitchen table become the drink zone!

I love my cider server! My mother-in-law bought this Department 56 item for me a few years ago, and this was the first time I got to use it. I made a delicious punch with orange juice, vodka, triple sec and peach schnapps, it was a hit!

I also found wine bottles that coordinated with Halloween.

We added some rope lights and mesh outside and tied with Halloween ribbon.

Outside, we made a circle with hay bales and put a fire pit in the center, and this table was nearby with all the fixins' for s'mores!

It was a lot of fun to decorate and prepare for, especially since I love Halloween so much!!! Up next, pictures of our costumes and all of our friends that came!
