Hello! Welcome to Keeping Up with the Joneses. Thanks for stopping by! We're a young couple living in the East Arkansas/Memphis area otherwise known as The Delta, with a love for family, friends, faith and food.

We believe that some of the best memories are created at home around the dinner table, and when entertaining those you love. This little blog is where I share recipes, wine, our home and our life. Enjoy! -Kendall

What You'll Find:

I love to try new recipes. In fact, I rarely make the same thing twice. I'm a bona-fide cookbook collector, Pinterest addict and magazine aficionado. On the blog, you'll see what I've got cooking.

I love wine, y'all, so from time to time I feature bottles I've loved. Crafts and decorating our little house are passions of mine, so you may see some of that. Thanks for stopping by!

Hi there, blog land. I'll keep this short and sweet:

I'm currently the Mayor of Crazytown. The Queen of Crazy. Stretched to the max. I don't have much extra time right now for cooking, much less blogging about it.

Everything is okay, I've just reached a whole new level of busy at work. When I have spare time, I don't want to look at my laptop. I want to relax and spend time with my hubby.

I'll be making posts here and there (probably on weekends), but not as often as I'd like. I've even got a great stockpile of recipes and photos on my to-post list just building up! I love blogging and I love you guys, so I am not disappearing if I can help it! Things will get better in a few months, and when they do - I'll be back in full force!

Thanks for your support!

Oh, what a good weekend it was. We spent the 3-day break in North Little Rock and caught up with lots of family and friends. We were busy, and I've got pictures of just about everything!

First up - we went to a big group dinner with friends for Payton's birthday on Friday night:

Ok, here are the pics of the engagement party! My dear friend, Jessica, was proposed to earlier in the evening. Little did she know, her fiance and sisters had planned for friends and family to be gathered at a restaurant to celebrate afterwards! It was soooo exciting:

Fun times! Ok, now we have Easter Sunday festivities to discuss. After a wonderful church service, my mom and dad hosted lunch and it was just lovely.

We had my mom's side of the family over, and the Wantucks. So, we had 3 precious little girls running around. It made Easter so fun! Here are Adyson and Elizabeth checking out the fountain.

We also had a major egg hunt in the back yard for the youngsters

IMG_0897

Remember those days of egg hunts and Easter baskets? Ahh, to be a kid again!

IMG_0908

Adyson thinks this basket makes a nice hat. I agree!

IMG_0914

Elizabeth quickly became a pro at hunting down the plastic eggs in the yard.

We had a wonderful weekend and are so thankful for the sweet friends and family we have in our lives. I hope that each of you also enjoyed your Easter Sunday, and more importantly, took the time to reflect on its true meaning! Happy Easter!

Happy Good Friday! I have the day off for the Easter weekend and I'm so excited for some family time.

I spent most of this week on a business trip, so it's nice to wind down after being so busy and just enjoy a glass of wine.

Welcome to Wine Friday! I'm actually enjoying a glass of this as I type. It's pretty delish. I love a good Petit Sirah on occasion, and I realized tonight I've never posted one on here!

Zoo Day Fun

Oh, what fun! We just had a delightful weekend with some of our very best friends, the Wantucks. They came to Memphis with their 2 sweet, precious little girls for a sleepover and trip to the awesome Memphis Zoo. Here are all the pictures!

 IMG_0757

It was an uncharacteristically cold day in Memphis on this April Saturday. We had to bundle up! The girls got on the boys shoulders' to see the beautiful giraffes!

IMG_0758

To me, these are one of the most beautiful, bizarre creatures at the zoo.

IMG_0761

Sweet little Adyson posing by the giraffes!

IMG_0762

Keith bundled up Sydney in her soft little blanket.

IMG_0766

We even stocked up on hot chocolate (it was sooooo cold for April). Adyson just LOVED it. In fact, for the duration the hot chocolate lasted, she didn't care about the animals.

IMG_1064

Then we saw the polar bears. WOW. I've never seen them be so active before. They were in a playful mood! This particular one was swimming like crazy and coming up to the window.

IMG_1074

IMG_1070

He loved coming up to Adam at the window with his Starbucks!

IMG_1071

They are such big, amazing creatures! It was fascinating to be able to press your hand up against his paw on the window. So cool!

IMG_1080

Here I am with Tory and the girls. It was chilly, but were were having SO MUCH FUN!

IMG_0774

Time for some carousel action! Keith (a.k.a. baby whisperer) hopped on a giraffe with Sydney.

IMG_0778

She's just so darn cute. I'm not sure if I can handle it. Her little face makes me melt every time.

IMG_0784

They are such cute sisters. Makes me want a set of daughters! Shhh, don't tell Keith that! :)

IMG_1089

At lunch, sweet Syd was giving out the smooches. It was adorable. She gave Keith A LOT more than me!!

IMG_1091

Can they stay little like this forever?

IMG_1092

Train ride through the farm! Adyson and Adam.

IMG_0794

At the petting zoo, Ady snuggles up with me for a picture.
She calls me Princess Kendall. She thinks I'm a real princess because she saw my homecoming crown from college at my mom and dad's house. She is convinced I'm the real deal. So funny!

Adyson and the donkey. He was a sweet little sucker. Toby was his name-o.

Orangutang. Funny pose!

At the end of a long and mostly chilly day, Sydney practically falls asleep with Uncle Keith.

Be still my heart!!

Thanks for coming to visit us, Wantucks. We love you!
