It's been a while since I've done one of these...here it goes!
Right now I Am:
At work. Shouldn't be blogging here. But, it's lunch time.
Have I told you that I'm on my computer allll dayyyy longggg in my job? It's not uncommon for me to have 5-8 tabs up in Firefox at once. I really like to multitask.
I love gmail, too. I'm always logged in. Chat me up sometime.
Music I'm listening to on repeat:
Keith Urban's CD, Defying Gravity. It's not new, but Keith (my Keith, hehe) left it in my car and now I'm in love with every song.
I also just bought Colbie Caillat's new CD on my phone, so I listen to that in the mornings when I'm getting ready.
Love her music. So relaxing.
I'm glad:
That my sister and her husband have purchased their first house. My mom is on her way (right now) to Idaho to help her get settled & paint. I'm so glad mom is going. Jennifer, she will be your lifesaver!!
Cute little yellow house! Can't wait to see how it looks when they've moved in :)
I'm missing:
Mary Catherine. A lot. She's in Knoxville and I haven't seen her since Easter. I wish we could go to Loca Luna together and get margaritas with sugar rims. That's our favorite way to catch up :)
Miss you pretty girl!
You know, growing up and moving on is wonderful, but bittersweet. We all venture off into great cities and jobs and make lots of new friends. And those are important, exciting parts of life. But, sometimes it's sad to be far apart from friends your really love...people that you wish you could see every single day.
Sometimes it's easy to get stuck in a routine if you and your surroundings never change. So, Keith and I feel like our move to Memphis was the best thing for us and our marriage because we've made so many new friends and started a little bit of a 'new' life here. But, there are some days when I terribly miss friends from home and from college that I used to be around so much...
...I digress.
I'm relieved:
...to not have living plants inside my home, to not own a dog, and to not be pregnant!
I'm enjoying not having anything to take care of except Keith and our house :)
The one plant we had inside died. We don't have the patience, money, or fence for a dog. And, I'm too young and too newlywed for kids.
This is an older picture, but a doggie would just wreak havoc on this furniture. I've gotta take good care of what Grandma gave me!!
I'm currently reading:
Just started Glass Castle, too, by Jeannette Walls.
I'm ready to:
Decorate for FALL!! It's my favorite time of the year. I love pumpkins, mums, and the smells of the season.
This is from last year. I can't wait. I've already marked my calendar for Fall Decorating Fest at the Jones home. Coming soon!!!
I am looking forward to:
Saturday! It's my birthday.
I've asked Keith to make me breakfast. And, I want to go get my nails done (at the Nail Bar, of course). That night, we're going to dinner with friends in Memphis. I might even make my own birthday dessert (there's nothing wrong with that, right? I like any excuse to bake something).
The older I get (and I'm not that old), the more I realize that the world doesn't stop and revolve around me on my birthday. I don't need anything fancy or a big party. I just want to have a good day with some of my favorite people. I think that's pretty special :)
I'm excited about:
My October SEC football party! I'm planing it at our house and I want all of our friends from dental school to come over and we'll cheer for our favorite SEC teams. I know all the married couples got lots of team loot for wedding gifts (I have an embarrassing collection of hog platters and hog items, surprised?).
(these are only a few I could find images of online)
But, since we all live in Memphis and everyone we're around is cheering for different schools, when would be my chance to throw a hog party?? So, I thought, let's get all of our stuff together on a Saturday and just watch all the SEC games on TV? Yay! So, I'm making a football field table cloth and thinking of yummy tailgate-style food to make....
I need to get to work on an e-vite, too....

Cute, huh? I bought some green fabric and numbers on sale at Hobby Lobby. Can't wait to get craftin'. I love me a hot glue gun!

Recent television addiction:
MAD MEN. I can't believe it's taken me until the 3rd season to watch. I love it! I've gotta rent season 1 and 2 in a hurry and get caught up. If you don't know about it, it's all about the advertising men of the "good 'ole days" on Madison Avenue in New York. It's fascinating! Oh, the drama...
I want to bake:
Something from a new cookbook I purchased, Cupcakes by Martha Stewart. Maybe I'll make one of the recipes for my birthday? This book has beautiful cupcake photos. Mmmmm.
Birthday cupcakes
Peanut Butter & Chocolate!
Classic Strawberry!

I'm getting my hair cut tomorrow and can't wait. It's driving me batty. I am working on growing it long again for my husband, but need a trim to survive this in-betweener phase. Yes, that's right, he doesn't prefer short hair :)
Well, that's enough rambling for one day. I'm done! Come back tomorrow for more stuff. September 11 is a special day for a few reasons....
