Hello! Welcome to Keeping Up with the Joneses. Thanks for stopping by! We're a young couple living in the East Arkansas/Memphis area otherwise known as The Delta, with a love for family, friends, faith and food.

We believe that some of the best memories are created at home around the dinner table, and when entertaining those you love. This little blog is where I share recipes, wine, our home and our life. Enjoy! -Kendall

What You'll Find:

I love to try new recipes. In fact, I rarely make the same thing twice. I'm a bona-fide cookbook collector, Pinterest addict and magazine aficionado. On the blog, you'll see what I've got cooking.

I love wine, y'all, so from time to time I feature bottles I've loved. Crafts and decorating our little house are passions of mine, so you may see some of that. Thanks for stopping by!

New Camera!

So, you know how I told you about my new camera? Well, we've switched it!

We had bought a Nikon Coolpix P90. We had done lots of research before going to buy and decided to get a Canon. But, when we talked to the sales rep at Best Buy, she sold us on the Nikon.

...Well, we should have trusted out instincts. I thought my pictures were average because I just hadn't learned how to use the features. But, Keith did some more research during the week and decided we had, in fact, picked the wrong camera for our needs! Luckily, Best Buy let us do an even exchange, no hassle, because both cameras cost the same.

So, now we have a Canon Powershot SW20 IS.... And we LOVE IT! I can tell a BIG difference already. You really never know until you take one home and play with it. So, thankfully we were able to exchange :)

Here are a few pictures we took around the house, just testing it out and learning about the features:

Hi!

Please, Please. Shave your face.

I love this scarf. Thank you, Whitney!!

....and on Saturday morning, Keith woke me up early. He is (almost) as excited as me about this camera.

I think I'll stay riiiiiiight here.

But, Keith made an interesting discovery outside. So, I got up.

A HUGE, GIGANTIC, DISGUSTING spider has built a web on the corner of our house, between the outside of the patio screen and the brick wall.

Oh. My. Gosh.

Thank goodness he is on the outside of the patio. Otherwise, I wouldn't go out there.

I've NEVER seen a spider this big "in the wild." Zoos only.

Seriously! If I saw this INSIDE the house, I'd freak. I want Keith to spray for spideys now.

This picture isn't as good, but you can see the crazy colors on him. It was hard to take a picture because of how high up in the corner of the house he is. And, it was a very dreary morning.

We've checked a few times this weekend, and he's still there, hanging on. Maybe he'll stay put all the way 'til Halloween?

Hey Kendall!
Don't worry about the spider--Bryce has one outside his front door, too. They kill mosquitoes and flies and won't bite you! :)
I hope everything's going well for you and Keith. I have seen him a time or two around the GEB and he's always moving so quickly all he can do is wave!
