Hello! Welcome to Keeping Up with the Joneses. Thanks for stopping by! We're a young couple living in the East Arkansas/Memphis area otherwise known as The Delta, with a love for family, friends, faith and food.

We believe that some of the best memories are created at home around the dinner table, and when entertaining those you love. This little blog is where I share recipes, wine, our home and our life. Enjoy! -Kendall

What You'll Find:

I love to try new recipes. In fact, I rarely make the same thing twice. I'm a bona-fide cookbook collector, Pinterest addict and magazine aficionado. On the blog, you'll see what I've got cooking.

I love wine, y'all, so from time to time I feature bottles I've loved. Crafts and decorating our little house are passions of mine, so you may see some of that. Thanks for stopping by!

What's happenin'

I have been totally negligent in making life updates on this blog in the past 2 weeks. Only recipes. While those are fun, I haven't written about anything else in the new year! Bad Kendall.

I'm going to make this update quick and easy for ya. In the last 2 weeks.......

-I've been busy..... real busy at work. Traveled to McLean, Virginia this week to meet clients. Good trip, brought back tons of work. Not sure how to get it all done. These are all good problems, people. It's also making me not want to be on my laptop when home at night.

-Keith went back to school. Now he's real busy, too. This semester has lots of craziness in store. He takes the first part of his boards in March. YIKES.

-It's been colder than a well digger's butt. Like that one? Heard that Arkansas-ism the other day. Really though, abnormally cold for Memphis. It's above 30 now, and I am enjoying the heat wave. Our hot water pipes froze last week. That made for a fun morning!

-I did actually finally remove all holiday decor from our home. It took a whole Saturday. My house felt naked until we got situated. Now I love how simple, clean and glitter-free it is.

-We've seen some movies lately: Avatar, Sherlock Holmes, and It's Complicated. Loved them all for very different reasons.

-I visited my friend Lauren Setzler at UAMS one Sunday. Just got to feeling like I had to go visit her right away. So, I dropped everything and drove to Little Rock and back in one day to spend a few precious hours talking to her. She's amazing. Such a fighter. And doing so great. Learn more about her progress here.
I think about her all the time and I'm praying constantly. Please continue to lift her up.

Look at all of our friends there to see her that day. So much love! It was like a high school reunion. She's limited to visitors now because her counts are so low and they don't want to risk infection, so I'm glad I went when I did!

-I made a few New Year's goals. I don't call them resolutions. I think that word has a negative connotation and people are bad about not doing their NY resolutions. So, I'll call mine goals.
I may share them on the blog, I may not. We'll see.

-The Bachelor is back on and I'm loving it! Right now, my favorites are Ali and Tenley. We'll see where "On the wings of love" takes us. Best part about the return of the drama-filled show? This blog. JUST READ IT. You will be in stitches.

-Lastly, my husband sent me flowers to work recently 'just because.' It is amazing how that simple gesture made me feel.

I love him.

Tomorrow is Friday and I'm so glad. I'll try to do some more blogging over the weekend!!

And just because I think this is funny....

How often do you see a van with flames on the side? Hah!
