Guh-irls vs. Buh-oys

Oh, I'm so glad school started back! Granted, I'm not the student, so I only speak for myself :) But, we've been reunited (with our dental friends) and it feels so good! We've hung out 5 out of the past 7 days. I think we like each other!!

Monday, the girls watched our beloved Jilli on the Bachelorette (thank goodness she finally got rid of Wes! I mean seriously!? I like Ed A LOT, but Reid is darn cute, too....I digress....). I could do a whole 'nother post on that show.

Tuesday, we all went to Central BBQ together, our favorite Memphis eatery! Yes, I dare say, it IS better than Rendezvous.

AND there was Thursday: the ladies went to see WICKED!!!!!! Oh, there are not enough words to describe that show!!

Saturday night we all got together again to have dinner and pick back up with our regular game night tradition.
And the camera was out in full force. Brace yourselves for lots of pics...


The Joneses, Siscos, Puryears and Hartmans had dinner at Flying Fish. Afterwards, we hiked up 7 flights of stairs to the top of the parking garage to get to the car. It was exhausting, but the view was worth it (of downtown Memphis).

Hey Hartmans- you SO should have come over afterwards for game night. We missed ya'll!

It was Guh-irls versus Buh-oys in honor of Guh-linda from Wicked.

Charles was making his special "Puryey" drinks. And we all liked them a lot. Too much, actually. We proceeded to party like we were all 19 again. Why not!?

Lindsey's husband Casey works with me at cs2 and she and I got the crazy idea to take some pics!

Why you ask?
1. It was recently our first anniversary and my grandparents had their pictures taken (just about) every year on their anniversary. It's so neat to look back at all of them!

2. I've got a new blog design in the works- and a new picture will have to go up! After all, the vintage car and tuxedo/white dress aren't very reflective of Keith and I in everyday life. We're not really that glamorous. Plus, I have some awesome designers around me all day long; might as well use that to my advantage!

3. I love pictures. Good pictures. And good photographers. And Lindsey is an AWESOME one! She's cute as a button and it didn't take much convincing to get me to agree to this! We didn't want anything serious or formal, just fun and "us". She did a great job and I can't wait to see the rest!!!

4. Obviously, we don't need them. But it was such a blast!

Keith Jones, Who?

Keith got his yearbook this week.
Who knew they even had yearbooks at dental school, right?

But, when we looked for Keith, this is what we found:




Hmmm. Now, I don't know about ya'll, but I'm gonna say that's NOT Keith Jones.

Oh, we have gotten the biggest kick out of this.

Turns out, the yearbook is not just for dental school, it includes pharmacy, med, dental hygiene, occupational therapy, etc. all within UT.

Keith went back to school today. He's now a D2, and word has it this will be the hardest semester of all. Yipeee!!
6 weeks wasn't much of a summer break, but it was better than nothin'! I think Keith was dreading going back, but looking forward to seeing his classmates. Oh, bittersweet return....

Independence Day

Happy 4th of July!! We had a little cook out at our house. Here are the pictures!

(side note: these pics were taken with my Dad's new camera, a Canon Rebel. I'm totally jealous and want a better camera..... good thing I have a birthday coming up! :)

My parents came into town and then our couple friends from dental school: the Siscos and the Blockleys came over, too.

Over the summer break, the Siscos made a game set for "bag-o" or "corn-hole", as some call it! I had never played, and it's actually takes a lot of skill. I was awful. But, I will improve over time, I hope.


The goal of the game is to get as many bags of corn into the hole as possible, but you also earn points for getting it on the board. Travis knew all of the 'official' rules. Apparently it's a legit sport??

Our delish 4th food! Burgers, Boston Butt Barbeque, Corn, Special Baked Beans (I'll share this recipe soon, soooo good!), Chinese Slaw Salad, and we also had Blackberry Cobbler, too. This is an amazing recipe that I promise to give you in due time!

Anyway, we got to see him Thursday night in Tunica! It was great concert because it was so small at the Harrah's event center, nice and intimate.

We met our good friends, Lauren and Lee, and had dinner at Paula Deen's restaurant beforehand.

We also spent our day off, Friday, with Lauren and Lee. The girls did some great shopping in Memphis and got our nails done, while the boys golfed at Tunica National. That night we went to The Beauty Shop for dinner, one of my favorite places!



And it was delicious....



Lauren and Lee get married in October, so we had a great time talking about 'the married life' over our dinner. Keith and I shared our one year's worth of advice; I'm sure we'll say different things 5 years from now! :)

I was SO happy to get that much time with Lauren. I've missed her a lot! We hope the Strothers-to-be will come see us again soon!
