Hello! Welcome to Keeping Up with the Joneses. Thanks for stopping by! We're a young couple living in the East Arkansas/Memphis area otherwise known as The Delta, with a love for family, friends, faith and food.

We believe that some of the best memories are created at home around the dinner table, and when entertaining those you love. This little blog is where I share recipes, wine, our home and our life. Enjoy! -Kendall

What You'll Find:

I love to try new recipes. In fact, I rarely make the same thing twice. I'm a bona-fide cookbook collector, Pinterest addict and magazine aficionado. On the blog, you'll see what I've got cooking.

I love wine, y'all, so from time to time I feature bottles I've loved. Crafts and decorating our little house are passions of mine, so you may see some of that. Thanks for stopping by!

Turkey Cranberry Braid

Here's a usual suspect at our house. This Pampered Chef recipe has been a favorite of ours since 2006. I heart Pampered Chef! They have some great products and I really like their cookbooks.

This is the Turkey Cranberry Braid. I love it!

Ingredients
1/2 cup sliced celery
3 tablespoons parsley
1/2 lb or 8 ounces of deli turkey, chopped
1/2 cup Craisins
1 1/4 cup shredded Swiss cheese
1/2 cup mayo
2 tablespoons dijon
1/2 tsp black pepper
2 cans Crescent rolls
1 egg white

Let's get started. This is just so super easy!

IMG_2961
Slice the celery lengthwise

IMG_2962
Slice up, not too thick

IMG_2964
Looks like it only takes about 1 celery stalk to get 1/2 cup

IMG_2967
Get all the deli turkey out and slice into strips

IMG_2968
Chop it up. There's no rhyme or reason here!

IMG_2969
So darn simple

IMG_2971
Snip about as much parsley as you'll need

IMG_2973
Use your kitchen scissors (I use my green ones for herbs only) to cut up the parsley

IMG_2976
3 tablespoons worth

IMG_2978
In a bowl, combine the turkey, celery...
IMG_2980
Parsley and Craisins...

IMG_2983
1 cup of the Swiss cheese...

IMG_2984
1/2 cup mayo...
IMG_2987
Measure out 2 tablespoons honey dijon....We love the poupon, ya'll!

IMG_2988

IMG_2989
Measure out 1/2 teaspoon black pepper

IMG_2991
Stir this up!

IMG_2992
The mixture is ready

IMG_2993
Get out a baking stone. Consider getting a Pampered Chef one if you don't have one at all. Trust me on that! It's great for tons of things.
Otherwise, a cookie sheet would work.

IMG_2995
Unroll 2 cans of Crescent rolls and arrange in a circle with the points facing outwards.
Use your (clean) fingers to blend the seams around the center and shape into a nice circle in the middle.

IMG_2998
Spoon the mixture in the middle

IMG_3000
Pull the points up and over, allowing the mixture to show through

IMG_3003
Pinch the seams in the center

IMG_3007
Separate the egg yolk from the white, and whisk slightly

IMG_3009
Using a brush, glaze the whole thing. This is what makes it bake pretty!

IMG_3011
Sprinkle with some Swiss cheese. I usually don't put too much here.

IMG_3013
Bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes

IMG_3016
It looks really impressive when it's done! It's so simple, too. People are always impressed!

IMG_3017
Mmmmmmmm!
This is great with a small salad or some fresh green veggies. It makes for good leftovers, too.

Pampered Chef has lots of other yummy recipes for braid stuffings (chicken artichoke, cheddar broccoli, omelet, taco ring, bbq chicken), but my favorite one is this!

Enjoy :)

Oh, I have 2 large stones, 1 med stone, 1 cake pan stone and a casserole.. love them too. That's all I use. But mine don't look as pretty as yours...mine are dark and nasty looking..

Ooh, this looks good. I like how it seems somewhat simple but looks pretty darn gourmet when it comes out! I love Pampered Chef too, mostly for the baking stones! And actually was just on my friends PC site, all stoneware is 20% off in February.
