So, I needed to do something therapeutic tonight. I could have settled for lots of wine, but I remembered that I bought a box of PAAS Easter egg dye and had a crate of eggs (plus wine doesn't set well with Ken's tum-tum).
I had thought it would be cute if Keith and I dyed eggs together, as a married couple, for our first Easter as "the Joneses." But, when I set everything out to do this tonight, Keith didn't show a lick of interest, so I proceeded alone. Which actually made me glad, more eggs to myself.
Clean, white eggs awaiting their colorful fate.
Fizzing tablets in vinegar. Love that smell!
These boxes come with 9 colors these days. Were there that many choices when I was a kid?
Egg #1 takes the plunge into red. I wrote my name in wax on this one.
Bathing in the color-ness.
The names of my favorite peeps: me and my hubby, my homeboy Jesus, and my two friends in Heaven, Kyle (my brother) and Sam (family dog). Oh and a generic egg titled "Easter".
At this point, I wished I had many more than a dozen eggs to dye. I could have continued for another hour. But, I had run out :(
There they are! Very basic and colorful. Usually, I am much more creative than this- dipping them in many colors to make stripes, drawing designs in the wax, I've even "tie-dyed" them in year's past. But, this time it I was for simple relaxation and plain colors suited my fancy just fine :)
These eggs did make me happy. Thanks, PAAS, for years of egg-dying happiness.
I did forget what a pretty mess it makes :)
