Hello! Welcome to Keeping Up with the Joneses. Thanks for stopping by! We're a young couple living in the East Arkansas/Memphis area otherwise known as The Delta, with a love for family, friends, faith and food.

We believe that some of the best memories are created at home around the dinner table, and when entertaining those you love. This little blog is where I share recipes, wine, our home and our life. Enjoy! -Kendall

What You'll Find:

I love to try new recipes. In fact, I rarely make the same thing twice. I'm a bona-fide cookbook collector, Pinterest addict and magazine aficionado. On the blog, you'll see what I've got cooking.

I love wine, y'all, so from time to time I feature bottles I've loved. Crafts and decorating our little house are passions of mine, so you may see some of that. Thanks for stopping by!

Tuesday surprise

When I got home from work today, I saw these beautiful flowers in our entryway. I was so surprised! My awesome husband got me flowers for no particular reason. I am so blessed! That is the kind of surprise that will make my whole day, my whole week! If anybody should be doing romantic things, it should be me. The poor guy has been bustin' his chops for a month trying to study for school, so I should be spoiling him for his job well done! Which, by the way, he blew the test(s) yesterday out of the water!! I was pumped for him.
He got out of school early and knew he was going to beat me home, so he made a little stop. He even cut them and put them in a our pretty vase (a sweet gift from groomsman, Will McCall). We were given lots of pretty crystal things from the wedding, so I leave them out, but rarely do they have flowers in them. It is just wonderful. One indulgence that I'd love to have (when we can afford and justify it) is to always have fresh flowers out somewhere in our home.

Anyway, just as I was making this post, I thought that I needed to post an updated pic on the blog. So, I went to find my flower-bearing hubby to take a smiling picture together, only to find him like this:

I guess being a student AND Romeo has it's price. He's zonked.
How can men sleep comfortably with that much hair on their face? Doesn't it itch? Oh well, he's still cute :)
